Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use Policy

Last Updated: September 24, 2026

These Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use Policy (“Guidelines”) describe the standards of conduct required when using Chiply's website, mobile applications, services, features, and related platform functionality (“Chiply” or the “Platform”).

These Guidelines supplement Chiply's Terms of Service and other applicable policies. By using Chiply, users agree to comply with these Guidelines.

Chiply is built around legitimate listings, transparent participation, fair automated selection, responsible item transfers, and good-faith interaction between users.

1. Respectful Conduct

Users must interact with other members of the Chiply community respectfully.

Users may not:

  • Harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or abuse another person.
  • Encourage or threaten violence.
  • Use discriminatory, hateful, or degrading language toward another person.
  • Impersonate another person, company, organization, or Chiply representative.
  • Repeatedly contact another user after being asked to stop.
  • Use Chiply to facilitate illegal activity or threaten illegal action.
  • Engage in behavior that creates an unsafe environment for other users.

Disagreements concerning a Drop, contribution, transfer, or other transaction do not excuse abusive behavior.

2. Accurate and Honest Information

Users must provide accurate information when interacting with Chiply.

Users may not knowingly:

  • Provide false account information.
  • Misrepresent their identity.
  • Misrepresent ownership of an item.
  • Misrepresent an item's condition, authenticity, specifications, availability, or material characteristics.
  • Use photographs or descriptions intended to materially mislead contributors.
  • Conceal significant defects or known issues with an item.
  • Falsify transfer information or verification records.
  • Submit fraudulent claims, complaints, reports, disputes, or chargebacks.

Drop Creators must have the legal authority to list and transfer any item offered through Chiply.

3. Drop Integrity

Drops must be created and operated in good faith.

Users may not:

  • Create fraudulent or deceptive Drops.
  • List items they do not own or have authority to transfer.
  • Artificially inflate or manipulate a Drop's activity.
  • Coordinate activity intended to create a false impression of participation or demand.
  • Use fake accounts, related accounts, bots, scripts, or automated systems to manipulate a Drop.
  • Coordinate contributions or account activity for the purpose of improperly influencing Platform results.
  • Create Drops intended primarily to evade Chiply policies, payment restrictions, or applicable law.

Chiply may review, restrict, suspend, or cancel Drops that appear fraudulent, misleading, unsafe, prohibited, or inconsistent with Platform rules.

4. REP ID and Automated Selection Integrity

Chiply uses REP IDs and automated Platform processes in connection with participant governance and recipient selection.

Users do not manually cast individual ballots during the recipient-selection process. Selection is performed through Chiply's automated deterministic system according to the applicable Platform rules.

Users may not attempt to improperly manipulate this process.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Creating multiple accounts to generate additional REP IDs.
  • Transferring, selling, purchasing, or exchanging accounts for the purpose of manipulating REP ID influence.
  • Using false identities to gain additional Platform influence.
  • Coordinating multiple accounts controlled by the same individual or organization.
  • Exploiting bugs, timing issues, calculation errors, or technical vulnerabilities.
  • Attempting to interfere with selection calculations.
  • Manipulating contribution activity for the purpose of circumventing the intended selection methodology.
  • Attempting to alter, falsify, or interfere with records used by Chiply's automated systems.

Chiply may invalidate activity, contributions, REP IDs, accounts, or results where manipulation or fraud is reasonably suspected.

5. Account Integrity

Unless expressly authorized by Chiply, each individual may maintain only the accounts permitted under Chiply's account rules.

Users may not:

  • Create accounts using false identities.
  • Operate accounts on behalf of suspended or banned users.
  • Share account credentials for improper purposes.
  • Sell, rent, lease, or transfer Chiply accounts.
  • Circumvent account restrictions or suspensions.
  • Use another person's account without authorization.
  • Use bots or automated account-creation systems.

Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their account credentials.

6. Platform Security

Users may not interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of Chiply.

This includes attempting to:

  • Access accounts or systems without authorization.
  • Probe, scan, or test Platform vulnerabilities without authorization.
  • Circumvent security controls.
  • Introduce malware, malicious code, viruses, or harmful software.
  • Scrape Chiply in violation of Platform rules.
  • Overload or intentionally disrupt Platform infrastructure.
  • Reverse engineer Platform systems where prohibited by law or contract.
  • Exploit bugs for personal or financial advantage.

Users who discover a potential security issue should report it to Chiply rather than exploit it.

7. Prohibited Items and Content

Users may not create Drops or use Chiply in connection with items or activities prohibited by Chiply, its payment partners, financial institutions, card networks, or applicable law.

Prohibited listings may include, without limitation:

  • Illegal goods or services.
  • Stolen property.
  • Counterfeit goods.
  • Items the seller does not have authority to transfer.
  • Controlled substances or illegal drugs.
  • Unlawfully sold firearms, weapons, ammunition, or explosives.
  • Hazardous materials where transfer would violate applicable law or Platform rules.
  • Pornographic or sexually exploitative material.
  • Items that violate intellectual property rights.
  • Fraudulent financial products.
  • Items obtained through fraud, theft, or other unlawful activity.
  • Any product or service prohibited by Chiply's applicable payment processor.

Chiply may maintain additional category-specific restrictions.

The availability of a listing on the Platform does not mean that Chiply has independently verified its legality.

8. Off-Platform Circumvention

Users may not use Chiply primarily to locate participants and then intentionally move transactions outside the Platform in order to:

  • Avoid Chiply fees.
  • Avoid Platform safeguards.
  • Evade transfer verification.
  • Circumvent payment controls.
  • Conceal activity from Chiply.
  • Circumvent a suspension, restriction, or cancelled Drop.

Chiply may restrict or terminate accounts engaged in deliberate Platform circumvention.

9. Communications and Messaging

Users must use Chiply communication features responsibly.

Users may not send:

  • Spam.
  • Fraudulent solicitations.
  • Phishing messages.
  • Malicious links.
  • Threatening or harassing communications.
  • Requests to participate in prohibited transactions.
  • Messages designed to circumvent Chiply safeguards.
  • False representations claiming to be from Chiply or its payment partners.

Where permitted by applicable law and described in Chiply's Privacy Policy, communications may be reviewed when necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, safety concerns, disputes, or policy violations.

10. Item Transfer Conduct

Drop Creators and Item Recipients are expected to cooperate in completing legitimate transfers.

Drop Creators must:

  • Make reasonable efforts to communicate with the selected recipient.
  • Transfer the item represented in the applicable Drop.
  • Provide the item in the represented condition, subject to any disclosures made in the Drop.
  • Follow Chiply's applicable transfer and verification procedures.
  • Avoid requesting false confirmation of a completed transfer.

Item Recipients must:

  • Communicate in good faith regarding the transfer.
  • Follow applicable transfer procedures.
  • Not falsely claim that an item was not received.
  • Not provide transfer verification before the transfer has actually occurred.
  • Follow any reasonable safety or identity-verification procedures required for the transaction.

Users should meet in safe locations and follow appropriate precautions when completing in-person transfers.

Additional rules may apply to vehicles and other high-value property.

11. Verification PIN and Transfer Confirmation

Where Chiply provides a Verification PIN or similar transfer-confirmation mechanism, the PIN must only be used after the relevant transfer requirements have been satisfied.

Users may not:

  • Request a Verification PIN before completing the transfer.
  • Provide a Verification PIN before receiving the item when receipt is required.
  • Fraudulently enter, share, obtain, or use another person's Verification PIN.
  • Falsify completion of a transfer.
  • Attempt to bypass Chiply's transfer-verification process.

A Verification PIN is an important Platform control and must be treated as confidential until appropriately used.

12. Fraud, Collusion, and Manipulation

Users may not coordinate with others to defraud Chiply, contributors, Drop Creators, payment providers, or other users.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Collusive account activity.
  • Synthetic identities.
  • Fraudulent payment methods.
  • Unauthorized payment activity.
  • Contribution activity using stolen financial information.
  • False transfer claims.
  • Chargeback fraud.
  • Refund abuse.
  • Attempts to manipulate recipient selection.
  • Coordinated attempts to defeat contribution, account, payment, or REP ID limits.

Chiply may preserve and provide relevant records to payment providers, financial institutions, law enforcement, regulators, or other appropriate parties where legally permitted or required.

13. Disputes and Chargebacks

Users must use dispute and chargeback processes honestly.

A user may not knowingly submit a false payment dispute or falsely claim that:

  • A contribution was unauthorized.
  • Chiply failed to provide a Platform service that was provided.
  • A transaction did not occur when it did.
  • An item transfer did not occur when reliable evidence establishes otherwise.

Nothing in these Guidelines prevents a user from exercising legitimate rights under applicable payment-network rules or law.

Chiply may investigate suspected chargeback or refund abuse and may restrict accounts where abuse is identified.

14. Reporting Violations

Users are encouraged to report suspected:

  • Fraud.
  • Harassment.
  • Item misrepresentation.
  • Account manipulation.
  • Selection manipulation.
  • Payment fraud.
  • Unsafe activity.
  • Prohibited listings.
  • Transfer problems.
  • Other violations of Chiply policies.

Reports should be made in good faith.

Knowingly submitting false or malicious reports may itself violate these Guidelines.

15. Cooperation With Investigations

Users may be required to reasonably cooperate with investigations concerning:

  • Fraud.
  • Disputes.
  • Chargebacks.
  • Transfers.
  • Account ownership.
  • Item ownership.
  • Safety incidents.
  • Selection manipulation.
  • Payment activity.
  • Violations of Chiply policies.

Chiply may request information or documentation reasonably necessary to investigate a matter.

Failure to cooperate may result in account limitations or other action where appropriate.

16. Enforcement

Chiply may take action when it reasonably believes a user has violated these Guidelines, the Terms of Service, another Chiply policy, payment-provider requirements, or applicable law.

Depending on the circumstances, Chiply may:

  • Issue a warning.
  • Remove or restrict content.
  • Remove or cancel a Drop.
  • Restrict Platform functionality.
  • Restrict the ability to create Drops or contribute.
  • Invalidate improperly obtained REP IDs or related Platform activity.
  • Temporarily suspend an account.
  • Permanently terminate an account.
  • Restrict future account creation.
  • Reverse or correct Platform records where appropriate and legally permitted.
  • Cooperate with payment providers or financial institutions.
  • Report suspected unlawful activity to appropriate authorities.

Enforcement decisions may consider factors including severity, intent, history of violations, risk to other users, financial risk, and legal or payment-network obligations.

17. Emergency and Safety Matters

Chiply is not an emergency service.

Users facing an immediate threat to their personal safety should contact local emergency services.

Users should not attempt to personally confront another user concerning suspected fraud, theft, or other criminal activity when doing so may create a safety risk.

18. Changes to These Guidelines

Chiply may update these Guidelines as the Platform evolves, new features are introduced, payment-provider requirements change, or additional safety concerns arise.

Material changes may be communicated through the Platform or other appropriate means.

Continued use of Chiply after updated Guidelines become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.

19. Related Policies

These Guidelines should be read together with Chiply's:

  • Terms of Service
  • Privacy Policy
  • Refund and Cancellation Policy
  • Fund Handling and Release Policy
  • Item Transfer / Fulfillment Policy
  • Seller and Drop Creator Policy
  • Vehicle Transactions Policy, where applicable

If these Guidelines conflict with the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control unless otherwise expressly stated.

20. Community Standard

Chiply is designed to operate around legitimate participation, transparent rules, accurate listings, responsible transfers, and a fair automated selection process.

Users are expected to participate in good faith and to avoid conduct intended to exploit other users, manipulate Platform systems, or circumvent Chiply's safeguards.

Questions regarding this policy may be directed to Chiply through our contact page.
